A program I want to use (VOB2MPG) requires that MS .NET Framework 2.0
first be installed. At the download site I read that it supports XP
SP2. I have SP1 (and do not wish to update at present). Is it OK to go
ahead and install NET Framework 2.0 please?

Installing .net Framework 2.0 should not affect .net Framework 1.1 at all
(they are designed to co-exist).

Thanks Gary. I went ahead and installed 1.1, which was VERY much
faster than installing 2.0.

Doug: I am admittedly a bit nervous. Will report back after a while.

The OP didn't ask whether .NET Framework 2.0 and 1.1 could coexist.
He asked if .NET Framework 2.0 would work under WinXP/SP1.
Since the Microsoft .NET Framework download page lists WinXP/SP2
as a requirement, it would be chancey to rely on SP1.
