I plug it in, but it gets recognized as a PS2 mouse? The USB mouse
already attached still works, but I can't get the MS kb recognized as
such, and can't find a driver for it that might help. Any suggestions?

try a different brand adapter, they don't always work, and they don't
seem to always pass all key stroke combos

Are you plugging it in to the correct PS/2 port on the back of the
computer? There are usually two of these, and they are identical
except that one is for the keyboard and the other for a PS/2 mouse.

On most mini-tower cases the keyboard connector is the one closest to
the edge of the case, with the mouse port inside, towards the center.
Many computers color code these connectors and the standard colors are
purple for keyboard, green for mouse.

Good luck

Look at the adapter CAREFULLY, does it have a little mouse printed on
it? If it does, you've got the wrong one. The right one has a keyboard
printed on it. The pinouts are different, requiring different adapters.
