I am not expert on MS licensing. I would like to use XP PROF SP2 CD
and legally update my winME system. Do I buy a license to do that?
Having doubts whether that was physically practical, over the weekend
I gave it a try on my winME backup drive with my daughters XP install
cd. The test install went up fine, one minor hiccup getting the mob
builtin audio up which was easily fixed using the mob install CD. As
of now it appears to run quite well. Response time is Good though a
little slower than my daughter's new system..
But it still needs to be registered. Can I pay a license fee and
register it or do I need a separate install cd? I vaguely remember
that this is (was) done and that a license cost less than a system
install CD?
Thanks
