How do I create a start page before the actual index.html? I've seen this
done in several sites where the start page links to the actual home page...
how do I do this?

Hi Musicaric,

What you are referring to is usually what is called a "Splash" page. In most
cases the Splash Page is the actual Index or default page..with links to
actually get from there into the main area of content. The first main
content page would then be called something different than the index page
(maybe homepage.htm..or similar)

If you don't mind hearing my opinion it would be "don't do it" :-) Many
people find them annoying due to needing to make the extra click to get to
the meat of the site.

I agree with Joe. I get out of splash pages as fast as possible. Can see
absolutely no reason for them.

Can see absolutely no reason for them.

Plus most splash pages use Flash & over 10% of users have Flash
disabled, or not loaded at all.
