MS-DOS applications running on NTFS

Does anyone know what kind of problems does an MS-DOS
application may have if it is installed on an XP operating
system that has an NTFS format instead of a FAT format?

The ultimate question is: Will the MS DOS app run fine on
an NTFS format?

I would appreciate any input you may have.

Thank you in advance

I suppose the simple answer is yes. For example, I still use an old
version of Word Perfect 5.1 with XP and an old bridge dos game. Btw,
the compatibility wizard (see accessories) might of some help once the
program is installed.

Good luck.

Depends on what the DOS application does. If it's a partition manager,
or some other system utility, well ... (you don't say what it is).

The bigger issue whether the DOS application will work in XP. Use the
XP Compatibility Wizard to install/run. Also check with the vendor of
the DOS application for their advice.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

The vendor said that it will run on Windows 2000 and
Windows XP Pro, but the vendor stated that it the hard
drive must be formatted in FAT and not in NTFS.

Would still help immensely if you divulged WHAT is the DOS-mode program that
you are asking about.
