After I change battery in my MS bluetooth keyboard I can't use it anymore.
When I try to connect it again, it is found but I can't type the passkey or
rather nothing happens when I try. I have tried anything I could find in the
Internet to solve the problem, but without succes. It seems that it is a
rather common problem, but that nobody knows what to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's usually a case of keep on trying until it works.. but here are a few
suggestions..

Make sure the batteries are functional... just in case...

Disconnect any unnecessary USB devices and try and ensure that no other
wireless devices (phones, microwaves, wireless networks, etc) are in use
nearby.

Make sure the transceiver is properly connected to a system USB port and
look through the information on the following links.

811798 - Bluetooth Desktop: Input device stops working and is not detected
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;811798

alternatively

811797 - Bluetooth: Device stops working and is no longer detected
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811797

Post an update when you can.

Hope that helps

Thanks for your fast reply, but all of your suggestions i have tried
before. I have also tried the resulution descibed in 811805
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;811805
but to no awail. When I use the Wireless Link to find the keyboard
it is found as:

Name: CSR - bc2
Address: 00:02:5b:00:a5:a5

but I can't authenticate it. I am also quite sure that it used top be
named as Microsoft Keyboard and not CSR - bc2 but I can't
remember if the address is the same.

I also tried to make an "update" from the WindowsXP CD, but
didn't help either and at the moment it is downloading all the previous
updates once again.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated ver much.

Sorry that didn't help... You seem to have tried about all the suggestions I
would have come up with.
If you're reporting that you've already gone as far as an In-place upgrade
(repair install) of XP and the problem is still occuring then you may have a
fault in the MS desktop itself.

The CSR - bc2 has been reported before in this newsgroup and I was
attempting to assist the poster in that instance. Unfortunately he didn't
post a final update. But the last action he was trying was to attempt to
install the keyboard on another system before returning the keyboard as
faulty.

I think that is probably the best option for you at this point. If you have
another system available, perhaps a friends?, then it would provide a good
test of whether the hardware was at fault. If it does not install on
another system then return it to your supplier and get a replacement.

Sorry I can't be more help

Thans for your answer. I think I am going to get a replacement or
buy the Logitech bluetooth desktop, which seems to have better
features and hopefully doenst have the same problems.

Thanks anyway,

Anders
