I have been using it since it came out...i i am now using
the update....no problems so far....does a great job
searching.....

Same here.
You can sometimes feel that you're doing something wrong because you're not having the
problems being reported!!
I have to remind myself that anyone not having difficulties probably won't post.

I'd be interested in knowing how many users are out there.

The latest report with the highest numbers I've heard was:

6.8 million downloads, about half of whom, or 3 million or so, are electing
the Spynet reporting option.

From here on out things get muddier because of the requirement to
re-download to get the .509 build. An earlier Security360 webcast stated
that this download set a record (I think for one day downloads) for the
Microsoft download center.

A fair proportion of those users haven't found the need to post here, and
its a good thing!

nah--the vast majority of folks are having no problems at all. That doesn't
make the issues we see here any less real, but the proportions are
important.

No problems here - except once I wasn't sure what I was blocking and had to
reverse that. It was a P2P program that I actually did use. Not MSASs
fault, however.

Did you find it reasonably easy to reverse that action? We've had a few
queries from folks in similar situations--they've blocked something (or
don't know what they did, 'cause the prompts were flying by!) and wondered
how to fix it. I've thought that the reversal mechanisms are reasonably
easy to find, but perhaps they could be differently organized?

I had to dig for about 10 minutes - it wasn't that easy to find and I'm
pretty computer literate. It seemed a bit buried, but I think I know how to
get there from the pull-down now.

I was thinking that a more central "reverse my decisions" which got you to
Qurantine, reversing blocks, etc, might make some sense.

I don't know how they go at this stuff-I hope they have some usability
testing going on--I know this would happen with a Microsoft built app, but
bolting it on afterwords is more complex.

I downloaded it a couple days ago and I'm running it with norton
antivirus, zonelabs firewall, and ad aware and I'm having no problems at all.
It found two on the first scan and deleted them. I wish it would get rid of
the tracking cookies but hopefully that will be in the final version. I'm
happy it was made because I was just about to start looking for a spyware
program that would protect in real time instead of scanning and deleting
cookies every day. I think it's a really good program and now I hear it's
going to be free which means a lot to me when I don't have money to go
buying software. Thanks a lot.
