Running Windows XP, 2.4 ghz Celeron HP Pavillion a200n 256
mb RAM on Roadrunner internet. (Cable modem plugged to the
Ethernet port) and E-Trust EZ-Anti-spam (provided by
RoadRunner)
Prior to using the MS Beta, I have been running Spybot
Adaware and AVG antivirus on a regular basis. (with at
least monthly updates of everything)
Installing the Beta antispyware, it erased all of my
internet settings and I had to reset everything to be able
to do more than look at basic text web pages. OK.. I did
all that..)
Now, Outlook express locks up at the point where EZ-Anti-
Spam is trying to put the spam into the quaranteen bin.
If I let tghe computer sit for 5 minutes (used to take
under 10 seconds..) it will still not allow any action in
Outlook Express except shutting the program down.
Restarting the application, the spam is not quaranteened.
(which means that in the rocess of checking my e-mail..
the preview is opening the e-mails which opften send back
a message to the sender verifying my address... which
means I get more spam..)
MS Anti-Spyware needs to be made to get along with this
anti-spam application.
I'm uninstalling until this is resolved. My computer is
protected very well.. I have had ONE spyware manage to get
on post-purchase (it shipped from HP with several spyware
programs... removed before I connected to the internet.)
in 3 years, and I got rid of it quickly.
