MS Antispyware detects JPGVideo

XP Home, SP2; MSAS b1.0.615 defs 5737.
First run found one return which was the application JPGVideo which installs
to c:\program files\ndw\jpgvideo\ and was detected as the threat NeededWare
Trojan Downloader by the author creatrixmedia.com. I selected to 'always
ignore' this as I have been using this application for some time and am
pretty sure it is a false positive. If anyone knows to the contrary could
you let me know thanks.

jpeg files can and some do, have spyware or even viruses
embedded within the file. Even some mpeg files can have
spyware.

Often various program/viewers offered for "free" contain
evil code.

A Goggle search for the terms "NeededWare | Trojan
Downloader by the author creatrixmedia.com" may return info
you want and need.

Hello walden,

I install the program, and also think it is a false positive!
Run a scan with:
SB S&D
Adaware
Pc Cillin
XoftSpy
I also look with Tweakmaster of there was internet action
But nothing found and no internet action!!

Thanks for this. The author of JPGVideo is NDW Ltd. (http://www.ndrw.co.uk)
and installs to c:\program files\ndw, which triggers the NeededWare false
alert.

Thanks for installing the program Tom. I forgot to mention I had scanned the
suspect files with current defs for Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D and an AV. Looks
almost certain to be an incorrect flagging. Thanks again.
