Since about 1 week, (probably after an update), each time I open this
software it acts as if it is the 1st time, asking for me to choose setting,
saying I have never run a scan (I do every day). Any idea?

If you are running as a limited user, rather than an administrator, try
logging in as an administrator.

If, in fact, you are logging in as an administrator, this routine should fix
the problem:

1) uninstall Microsoft Antispyware
2) delete \program files\microsoft antispyware and all subfolders. You will
lose access to quarantined items, history, and chosen custom settings.
3) reinstall Microsoft Antispyware from a fresh download so you get the
current version.

(I'm hoping that the number of times I make this particular post is not
infinite--there will be a "last one" when beta2 comes out--but I suspect
this one isn't it.)

Thanks. I believe I am always signing in as administrator, as we have only
one user (it's the family computer and we all sign in the same way). Do you
still suggest that I uninstall and reinstall? thanks, Monique

Yes--I'd suggest uninstalling, doing the folder deletion (that's the key
part) and reinstalling.

My Microsoft Antispyware is doing the same thing as Moniqie and I've tried
everything to get it to work normally, I believe the problem is from
downloading the latest security updates in September and October with the
malicious software removal tool.
Just wait for the latest update for MSASW from Microsoft.

Well, since my prescription worked for Monique, perhaps you should try the
same thing--that's what I'd suggest.
