MS Anti-spyware Vs McAfee Anti-Virus

I am trying to update Anti-Virus 7.0 to 9.0. When I
delete the 7.0 version I loose my access to IE. I can
connect to my provider but can not bring in ANY web
pages, "cannot find server or DNS error". I must restore
a previous checkpoint to get IE back. MS Anti-spyware is
the last installition I did... Is there a known conflict
between the two???
