MS Anti-Spyware Loads Slow and will not scan

I have been testing this on quite a few machines
successfully now. I tested on my first Windows XP Home
edition Service Pack 2 machine today.

The program opens very slowly. About 50-70 seconds to
open. Clicking the scan button does nothing, as if it
wasn't even a button. The CPU pegs at 100% until the
program is closed. I only need to close it, no end task
is needed it doesn't seem to be frozen.

Anyone have any ideas before I remove and wait for a new
beta or full release?

When your CPU usage spikes, under processes is it the MSAS
that is hogging the cpu? What is the process name? have
you tried to run it in safe mode to see if you get the
same results?

Right click the Taskbar > TaskManager > Processes > (click on) Mem Usage to
see a detailed view of which program is possibly hogging your memory. It
does have to be MS Anti-Spyware, but it does use a fair amount of the CPU
during scans, which is also a cause of the speed of your hard disk.

Checked that out, only the Anti Spyware is using much.
The system runs well otherwise and other spy ware programs
run well which have been removed for the moment.

I will just play with it some more and maybe hold off
until newer versions are available.
