I'm stuck in the same update loop from 5725 to 5731.
Have run update multiple times, and still can't update.
HELP MS with your new beta!!!! Thanks for any advice.

"Right click on MSAS icon within systray and choose shutdown.

Right click and "Save target as..."

http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditThreatData.gcd

Copy/paste these files to Program files/Microsoft Antispyware
Restart MSAS and "check for updates"
Done until MS realize that this is a bug.............."

1) do a file, check for update, then do Help, about. See whether the
version still reads 5729.

If it does, I'd be inclined to blame the server--those URL's should reach
the current defs, but perhaps they aren't synched across all servers yet.

Ok Francis,

try this:

Empty you Temp Internet folder
Then click for update MSAS
Go to the Temp Internet folder
look for the next 3 files
gcThreatAuditScanData[1].gcz
gcThreatAuditThreatData[1].gcz
gcDeterminationData[1].gcz
Ok change the .gcz annex to .zip
unzip them to the MSAS folder
Say yes to overwrite!
Then click upgrade MSAS
and no more useless upgrades!

Yes it is still a Beta!
