Just had adsl 2Mb installed. Was experiencing poor speeds
and after contacting ISP and process of elimination
discovered that I was 'loosing' approx 500 Kbs with Anti-
Spyware running. Anyone else have similar problems?

Well, the bets you can do is disable the real time protection in the system
tray.

Yep, I did. And you're the first I've heard of other than myself that also
had it. I'm on XP Pro SP2 and 3mb DSL. I was getting a really long delay
after clicking links from within OE, and sometimes delays clicking links on
webpages. I disabled it, and it went away.

I also had overall computer slowdowns even with it disabled, and this is on
an overclocked P4 2.4C @3.4ghz with some massive dual-channel memory
bandwidth (282mhz bus), and a WD740 Raptor! I uninstalled it, and still had
some odd problems. I had to run Ghost to restore to before I installed it
to fix things. I'm not touching this POS again until it's out of
Beta....and then I MIGHT only if it's free and there have been no more
issues with malware written especially for MSAS. I think it's a waste of
time for us to screw around with Beta anything unless you're getting paid to
do so.
