I need to build a PowerPoint presentation that
features a "main menu" type structure, enabling
users to follow various paths, using hyperlinks.

I want to have an Agent script that always executes
on a given slide no matter how many times a user
lands on it, and from which direction.

Can I use Presentation Narrator to do this, or
is it limited to straight linear sequences (A --> Z)?

Michael,

I think this can be done with the macro version, but you need to "fire" it
to start. So, in all honesty, I think something like Vox Proxy would be
better. It will allow the MSAgent to fire on any slide, as long as the
script is set to run. I don't normally go for straight out commercial
solutions but this one may help.

I don't know whether you can do what you want with Presentation Narrator.

You can, however, without difficulty, especially if your presentation
doesn't contain very many slides, using Microsoft Agent Scripting Helper
(aka MASH), a fully-functional trial version (30 days) of which is available
here: http://www.bellcraft.com/MASH/ .

You also can do so, quite easily no matter how many slides your presentation
contains, using Vox Proxy, a fully-functional trial version of which is
available here: http://www.voxproxy.com/index.swf .

Hi Michael,

Glen and Lon are correct, you'll need VoxProxy to do
this. The other two just don't have the flexibility that
you're looking for.

Hello,

If none of the suggestions provided give you the functionality that you
were looking for or, if you (or anyone else reading this message) have
suggestions for how and why you think PowerPoint should provide this
functionality natively (or make it easier) instead of relying on VBA,
add-ins or 3rd party tools, don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN
WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
