We use a Access database at work and the guy who created it just got fired last week. He was the owner of the database and was the only one who was able to add information to it.

Is there any way to change the permission back to a default level so we can add data? Or are we screwed?

Thanks for your help.

Do you know if the database was set up with domain-user based permissions? Or did he have a username and password on it? I don't think I have an answer, but I think that information might help someone who knows more about permissions in access than I do. My last foray into Access permissions required me to use a usename and password to get into any database afterwards :o

Easiest way would be to get hold of said fired person for passwords etc, or just look on Google, plenty of free tools to recover usernames and passwords in Access :D

I think he set up a domain- user based permission. I have read only access but that is it.

I get this error message ... You don't have permission to run "xxx"
