Hello,
I'm stumped. I'd like to use a Microsoft Access ODBC connection with XP
Embedded. Is that possible? Is there a patch available? How about a patch
to just install the necessary drivers so I can see MS Access as a valid ODBC?
Currently, I only see SQL Server. Oh, and I'm on SP1.
Thanks!!!

Shayne,

What patch you are referring to? Patch for what?

Make sure you've got "Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)" component in your image. (the latest revision is in SP2)

KM,
I do have MDAC on my image. I have an ODBC driver available for SQL Server
and Oracle. I need to somehow get the MS Access (mdb) driver available. Is
that available with SP2?
Thanks,
Shayne

KM,
I see in one of your previous posts that you had installed Microsoft Jet.
Perhaps that is my answer. How do I install that component? I'm relatively
new to the Windows environment so basic instructions would be preferrable.
Here is your post:

Add "Jet Database ODBC Component". It will pull in the "Jet Database Engine"
component for you.

Also add "Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)" (Visibility=200). It is
always helpful to have when you deal with databases in
OS.

Shayne,

That is correct. You will need "Jet Database ODBC Support" component in your
Configuration.
Most of Jet/ODBC components have Visilbility level 200 so you would need to
lower Min.Visibility option in TD (Tools-->Options-->Advanced page). Set it
to 100.

KM,

I've got a feeling we're very close. You'll have to forgive me, like I
said, I'm very new to Windows. You mentioned that I need the "Jet Database
ODBC Support" component. How do I acquire that component? Is that something
that I can download and install from the Microsoft website? Thanks again for
your help thusfar.

Shayne

Ah - so you think the manufacturer sent us a scaled down image. That is
possible! I'll check with them and update with response.
Thanks,
Shayne
