MS Access 97: CPU Usage Question

I have 3 MS Access files, all unrelated.

When I have my web browser open, and ALT+Tab the MS Access
applications out of view, I am noticing something odd.

When I go to the NT Task Manager, and click on the
PROCESSES tab, I am noticing that between the 3 Access
files, at random frequencies, the MS Access programs
consume the CPU utilization for a period of 5-10 seconds.

RAM is limited on the PC's that run my application. Is
there a way that I can change a setting to prevent this
from occurring?

I wouldn't worry about it. While Access does appear to be consuming a lot of
resources, it gives them up very cleanly if any other task requires them.
