Mpeg4 converted to MP3

I use apples itunes, I am aware that it isn't a microsoft prodcuct, that must
be why it is so confusing at times. Can anyone tell me how to convert Mpeg4
to MP3. I'd like to burn cd's as well as be able to download my purchased
CD's (itunes) to my xbox 360. as well as to my phone (it plays MP3's). Am I
just out of luck?
