MPEG2 Videos in presentation

Got a strange one.

I inserted MPEG2 videos in a presentation just fine. Got
a new laptop and the videos play fine in media player,
but after inseted in PPT file and run slide show they
only blink once and nothing. Both MPEG1 and AVI are just
fine. Other computers run the presentation just fine.

Any hints????

It's probably a missing codec. See
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/multimedia.htm for info on
how multimedia is handled in PowerPoint. It's quite complex.

It has all the same CODECs as my other computers (i
checked). The notebook came with WINDVD installed I
think that is waht screwed it up. BTW-media plays files
just fine.

You'll want to compare your MCI settings to section 3 of the web page I
provided. PowerPoint 2002 or earlier doesn't use Windows Media Player.
Depending on your version of Windows, you'll want to test by going to start
