When you view a PowerPoint presentation containing an
MPEG file, the MPEG file doesn't play and it appears as a
blank placeholder.
Using power point 2000 and windows xp. Instructions found
in microsoft site did not help.

Dear Alberto,

This will not help you, but I am experiencing the very
same problem. The Microsoft Support Team in France was
not able to help me...

It appears as our problem is not as isolated as it is
believed!

Kind Regards,

Philippe,

I have the same problem

The powerpoint presentation runs well on my desktop PC but this problem happens when i try to run the presentation from my laptop.

The slides contain an AVI movies prepared using microsoft MPEG-4 codec which is supposed to be installed automatically by Windows Media player.
My desktop PC shows this codec in the list of codecs but I don't see it on my laptop's list of codecs. I tried installing the codec manually but I could not find a link for it.

Visiting microsoft website: Codecs will install automatically when playing the movies using Media player!

Awaiting any suggestion
