help!

i'm a video editor who's been asked by a client to insert MPEG-2 movies into
her PP 2000 presentation for playback.

any tips and suggestions to get this done efficiently?
since MPEG-2 is video-only, how do i insert the audio file to playback with
the mpeg?

thanks!

Hi Jeff
Assuming you have an IBP MPEG-2 file...
Firstly you need to multiplex the video and audio (MPEG-2 is not video only,
but sometimes the video and audio streams are separate - it is a multiplexed
MPEG-2 clip that you'll want to insert into PowerPoint). There are many
tools that multiplex MPEG streams - try TMPGEnc at
http://tmpg.pegasys-inc.com/download_files/TMPGEnc-2.513.53.162-Free.zip
(this is an MPEG encoding utility but has MPEG tools, including a
multiplexer).
When you have a multiplexed MPEG-2 file PowerPoint playback depends upon
your system (and any system that the file will be displayed on). If you
can't insert the file (with the extension .mpg) using Insert>Movies and
Sounds then you may need to install a software MPEG driver, like the one at
www.elecard.com .
Hope that helps.
