Hey everyone, I have WinXP running with WMP9 and I can't
seem to make Internet Explorer prompt me before
downloading MP3s and other files that WMP plays. How can I
get Internet Explorer to prompt so I can choose to open or
save? Right now, I click on an MP3 to download and it
automatically opens the file in WMP and starts buffering.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

David

Control Panel \ Folder Options \ file types
Type M to get down to MP3
Advanced
Put a checkmark in "confirm open after download"
apply\okay your way out.

I'm not sure whether you'll have to do this with each type
individually. Would suggest that after rebooting, you try downloading
a similar type of file.

Thanks for the help, but for some reason, this does not
work for me. The MP3s still open automatically into
Windows Media Player. Hmmm, if anyone has other
suggestions, that would be great. Thanks,

David

Have you tried right-clicking and selecting "save target as"...?
