I am converting my audio CD's to MP3's using Music Match. It works great
but for one thing. When I rip a CD it saves the tracks as 01, 02, 03 and
so on. I have to go back and rename all the tracks by hand. Is there a
ripping program that will automatically name the MP3 files [artist &
track name] as they are being ripped?

Many ripping programs have a "CDDB" facility (I think that's what it's
called) whereby it goes and downloads the song titles from the net while
you're ripping. http://www.exactaudiocopy.de is one such....lots of em do
it though.

Thanks for the link. EAC does what I want. It's a little on the slow side
when ripping. What I lose in ripping time I make up for by not having to
rename the files by hand. Thanks again for the link.

I don't use MMJB but am reasonably sure it has CDDB lookup capability.
Check its "help".

I found a great free, open source program that will rename an entire MP3
album for you.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jmp3renamer/

You point it to a directory with an MP3 album, tell it what album it is,
then it looks it up at freedb.org and renames them for you. VERY handy.

You may want to have a look at CDex, it will fetch the track names from
CDDB and is faster than EAC when it comes to the ripping.

ASPI Rip will
uses freedb to get the CD info off the internet for tagging and
renaming of mp3 or ogg encoded "ripped" CD tracks.
includes cdplayer.ini editor with batch freedb lookups.
(most other rippers and players use cdplayer.ini)

If it is freeware then why does it say ;

"Buy Now get a key for all tools" ?

EAC is slower because it is trying for a "perfect" rip. You can make EAC
as fast as the other rippers but the quality suffers.

Why EAC?

Because it was late and I posted it in the wrong group by mistake and
issued a cancel to the post immediately after posting it.
Why most others dont see it.
it seems your news feed has not honoured the cancel issued and there
isnt much I can do about that.

You didnt snip it from your reply so now its here for good unless you
issue a cancel and the post you just put up with the program info in
it.
Thanks.
