Hi,
I'm using RealPlayer v10.5 to convert ra or ram files to mp3 and there is an
option to increase or decrease the file quality output from 32 Kbps mono to
320 Kbps stereo. But actuly, I couldn't understand the main purpose of
increasing or decreasing quality of the file. please help?

128kbps = CD quality supposedly. If you have ripped a CD to a wave file then
want to convert it to a mp3 file I would say go to 160.

For a conversion of a conversion, stay at 128.

Cheers,
Jerry

128 kbps is most definitely NOT CD quality, whatever companies try to tell
you. 160 + would be better but try a minimum of 192 kbps Encode at the
highest bitrate you can afford in terms of space/money, especially if you're
archiving a much loved music collection.
