mp3 & portable cd players

My portable cd players will not play mp3 I have downloaded from Napster,
among others, and copied to cd r

I have used both roxio and Nero ....
the cds play in the computer(s) around the house but not on my cd p;layers
 
You need to 'finalise" the CD's for them to be playable on CD machines other
than in your PC as they are considered as being data CD's, not audio CD's.

Are you sure your portable CD players are mp3 capable ? Not all are. Check
the booklet that came with your portable, it should say in there.
