Mp3 organiser ?

Problem: I have all mine and my wife's CD's on the computer as this is
where they are played from most frequently.
Storing each CD in it's own folder, grouped only by artist / band name
gives a lot of folders to view and tends to look rather messy.
Sorting everything alphabetically, while it looks better, has it's own
issues - did I store that music by name ? Album ? genre ?
We have realised that without having the visual prompt of seeing a name,
we are forgetting what is there.

I know that this is only aesthetics, and that I should just put up with
having a lot of folder to look at, but what I'd like is some way for me
to organise the folders better, yet also not lose any music so to speak.
We also don't use playlists.

I've checked the PW site, and nonags, but cannot find anything suitable
so far. I use Winamp 2.91 to play the music, and that suits us fine.
What I don't want - or need - is something with so many 'bells and
whistles' added that I'll not use them.

Any ideas anyone ?

As far as I remember, WinAMP 2.91 has a "Media Library", which you can
sort by artist, title, CD... as long as you have the ID-Tags set
accordingly.

If I was wrong, Zinf has a very good media library and is not more
bloated than WinAMP as player.

There are many MP3 database programs - a Google search for same will give
you numerous. One great advantage of using same is that you don't need any
folder structure yet can find any song - by any of various criteria - very
rapidly. There is a section in my dandies below that discusses a few of
them. My personal favorite is MP3Stock from
