I'm using MS FP 2002. It will not load MP3 files into my web pages. Will V2003?
Thanks,
A. Martin

What do you means it doesn't load into your page?

I loaded a couple of .wav music files, one 5+Gb, the other 11+, in fact they
are on my page now, www.archmartin.com. I am a novice and was told by a pro,
if I converted the .wav files to MP3 files, they would be considerably
smaller and not takes as long to open the page on the net?
Thank you for your reply,
Arch Martin

Ok, then import the .mp3 files into your web then create a hyperlink to them like you would do to a
page.

I tried but obviously don't know how to <import the .mp3 files into your web>.
I did "Import" for both .mp3 files, and in the import window, clicked "Add
File" for each. Then did "Insert, " Hyperlink", left "Text to display" blank,
put the address of the page I wanted the respective file to go to, then
clicked "OK". (I had deleted the .wav files from the folders list and the
pages.) I saved and refreshed, viewed the "Review in Browser", no music, so
published anyway and still no music?
'Appreciate your patience and replies,
arch

To import, use File Menu | Import or drag-n-drop the files into your current open FP web. Then add
your text to the page, then right click and select Hyperlink, then browse to the file, etc.

The problem with background music is that folks visiting your site need to be able to turn if off,
as well as it will only play while the user is on that page.

To work around this, insert whatever type of sound file FP allows, then switch to code/html view and
change the filename to that of your mp3 file.

If the sample mp3 is in a folder in your web, somewhere on the page put 'Text
to display' (Like "Listen to sample") and then hyperlink address to the mp3
file (e.g., sample.mp3), not "the page you wanted the respective file to go
to".

one 5+Gb, the other 11+,

Even with a T1, who do you expect to wait for a 5 to 11 gigbyte to download?

Bob Lehmann

That is why he want to convert them to the mp3 format, so the file size will be smaller.
