mp3 files in PP

My Power Point on Desktop playes inserted mp3 files
without a problem, but my laptop will not insert mp3 into
Power Point. Both machines operate in Win98se, both have
Power Point 2000. I have new WinMedia Player in both
machines. There seems to be a missing codec but I have
reinstalled PP and nothing changes. Any idea out there?

If it's a missing codec you'll need to identify which one and then install
it. It could also be a problem with your MCI settings, especially if you
have other players installed on the laptop, such as Real Player. See
