JukeBox Decoder can, right click playlist and select column header
properites, remove all headers except Artist and Album.
Click on the header you want to sort by.
Then highlight files to print and right click again to select the type
of list to print.
It can do CSV to view in Excel.

OK - then I have to go true all folders and highlight a number one by
one....thats not optimal.

I can do that with the database I use Mcat, but I wass looking for a program
to do all that automatic.

Here is what I want to have done.: Scan HD and list artist and albums -
that's all.
Perhaps it's not a IDtag program, but a print folder program of some kind (I
don't know)

Still hope someone will come up with a solution.!

MP3Lister from http://www.codevisions.de/

No "help" so you'll have to click around to figure out its
capabiliries. Basically...
* Save as text, html or delimited (comma or any character)
* Filter type of file (in your case, mp3)
* Recursive or not
* Select any of many possible fields (including "custom") for
output list. Get to this by clicking "Edit Style" on main GUI.

Good program.

I may have miss read you on it:
You can open the whole drive to load all files to the playlist in one
go.
remove all header columns before you do so you only have artist and
album showing.
With all files loaded showing artist and album, right click and choose
"select all" and then again and choose to create the list off them
all.
Alternative, you can leave the "path" column there to show the folders
the files all exsist in on the printed list as well.
It is a few steps to do it but no you dont have to plod over each one
at a time.

I gather you want something that does just that task of scanning and
listing in less steps than JBD, there are programs to do that Ive seen
quoted but dont come to mind right now sorry..
Im sure someone here will suggest one of them.

MPEG Audio Collection will do this (and a lot more). Just be sure to
"mark" the files you want printed, if you don't want your whole
collection.

Good program.

Mp3Lister is allmost perfect
-BUT-'
If there is 12 songs on an Album, it will wrote the same line 12 times...?

I realy just nead 1 line saying (artist)Aqua - (album)Aquarium and not 12.!
(1 line for each song)

So if there was a "remove dublicates" it was what I'm looking for.!

So I'm still looking for a program that can write a list on what Artist and
Album I have on my HD.
Artist A = Album 1
= Album 2
= Album 3
Artist B = Album 1
Artist C = Album 1
= Album2

etc...etc....

Well - MAC is the tool after all.
I found that I was NOT keeping my colection with subfolders for Albums.
I just keep all numbers under the artist directly.
So I just have to create a subfolder for each album (one time to do) and in
the future set CDex to keep it that way when ripping.

If I do that MAC will show that allright.!

So MAC do not take informations from IDtags, but from the folders.

Thanks for the help everyone.!
...problem solved (again as allways.!)

Thanks for the URL. I thought that Juergen had fallen from the face of Earth.
Looks like he has stopped the development of v3, though. Too bad.

Anyone knows what happened and whether there is any hope that it ever gets
completed?
Support for FreeDB would be so useful...
