Hi,

I have had win2kAS up & running for a couple years on a dell tower, but it's
time to move it.

I have a Dell PowerEdge 4400 dual xeon machine sitting here waiting, with 8x
18gig SCSI HDD's.

However, all i want to do is duplicate the existing one onto the new one -
the old system works perfectly, it's just the machine is on it's last legs.

The old machine is a "normal" HDD not SCSI; It also has Exchange 2000 on
it, but I could attack this from a different angle.

Any advice on how to accomplish this ? Other than that, is my only option to
do a new fresh install, and if so, are there any shortcuts I can take on
such items as copying over the accounts from the ADs ?

Many thanks in advance

Steve

Your best bet is running a backup and then a restore. You can either
restore the entire backup to the new server, in which case your challenge
will be getting the various drivers straightened out, or you can load the
new server with an operating system and then just restore the data files
