Hi,
Currently I am working on a device which has a customized version of Win CE
3.0( provided by device vendor). The device is based on Handheld PC
architecture.
The vendor has also provided the SDK for the development purpose. Now if I
want to move to the .NET Compact Framework what are the things I need to ask
the vendor:
1) What OS the device should support? Win CE 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 or Win CE.NET
2) What changes would be there in the SDK?
3) What tools besides Visual Studio.NET I would require for development. (
currently I am using eVT 3.0)

Hi,

..NET CF 1.0 supports 4.1 and higher versions of Windows CE .NET. However
this support relies on OEM as they will provide the necessary SDK for the
device. Changing the current SDK will not solve the problem.

You may also need tools such as Windows CE Utilities for Visual Studio .NET
2003 Add-on Pack 1.1. But these requirements all depend on the OEM's .NET
CF SDK.
