Is there any "easy" way to join 200+ WinXP and win2K workstations to a domain
and at the same time, preserve the users' desktops, screensavers, files, and
settings?

I don't know how you define "easy", but the User State Migration Tool
may meet your needs:

If it doesn't, consider posting in one of the server newsgroups (like
microsoft.public.server.general or server.sbs depending on what your
server is running) since your question isn't really security-related and
the server gurus will have come across your situation many times.
