moving the sam database to another server

anyone know how to move the local user database from one server to another??

I even tried doing a full backup and then restore to the target server and
it did not carry over the local user database...

any feedback is much appreciated!

AFAIK that is impossible for local accounts which bear the machine-
specific SIDs. I take it this has nothing to do with MS domain
accounts.

If you state your problem/goals there may be solutions for creating
equivalent accounts and setting equivalent file permissions perhaps.
Most of which would be best addressed in another group most likely.
