In XP, I want to move the Documents and Settings folder &/Or shared folder to a different partition on my hard drive. (other than C:). XP does not allow you to do this by default. Basically I have a partition for the OS and programs, a partition for the swap files, and a partition for data. I want to move those folders because they contain my MP3's and other data that is just clogging up my C: partition. Suggestions? I used the built in help, however it references other flavors of windows.

Help....

Thanks
Bruc

If the folder with the MP3s, etc. is a subfolder of My Documents, why not
just move the My Documents folder. Or, make those folders sub-folders of My
Documents and then move then move it.

Michael, Thank you for your reply, however with multiple users I would be required to rename the subsequent folders, this is a problem because XP just loves to keep adding those pesky "my folders" back. Also, between account 1 & 2 (my wife and I) we use the shared documents, which is a whole other beast. Any other suggestions?

Your time is appreciated,
Bruce

Well, it can be done but as far as I know, only during installation at least
as far as documented methods are concerned, check the following:
