Hi,

I am trying to upgrade from a 17GB PATA IDE drive to a 120GB SATA drive, a
Maxtor DiamondMax 9.

A have an Asus A8N7X Deluxe mobo, with the two drives currently attached.
Windows XP (currently installed on the 17GB) sees the SATA drive OK, and I
can format, read & write to it.

I want to now move my whole system over to boot from the SATA disk. Maxtor
supply 'Maxblast3' (free cloning utility), but it freezes when booting from
the floppy, just after loading the CD drivers.

Has anyone had this experience, or know of another free tool for moving the
bootable partition to SATA?

Hi,

strange that the MAX-Blast software didn't work, wonder what it means?
Anyway I would have thought something like Norton GHOST would be ok. .
