Windows XP Pro, Pentium III, 60 Gig HDD, Three partitions.

Is it possible to move programs from the boot partition to another partition
on the same HDD? Reason- I'm running out of space on the boot partition
(10Gig). Thanks all. jerry

If u just moved them windows will get very confused. your
best bet is to uninstall all the programs and then
reinstall them on a different partition. though if u are
going to do that it would be better just to backup your
important data and do a complete reinstall of windows.

I used a program to transfer the files and it did a good job.

It is called: Application Mover and is trial ware from:

The only problem I had with it was a pointer in Quicken that it didn't
find. Was within the Quicken program, not a register entry.

It found all the shortcuts and registry entries and made the
corrections.

I bought the program after trying it out.

Chris, why would you recommend reinstalling Windows for this situation?
Personally, I don't think that's a necessary step.

Your recommendation of uninstalling and reinstall *just* the programs is
a good one. The common files and DLLs in Windows will still be on C: but
the bulk of the program will end up on the other drive.
