I want to move some printers off of the server they are on now to a new
server that will replace it. One question I have is there a way to move
these printers to the new server and not have to go to every desktop and set
up the priters again?
The printers are using standard TCP/IP ports and IP addresses.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Vin

Vince,

I Have the same problems with my printer server! i'm
trying to migrate 57 printers to another server. I was
trying the program printmig but this only imports the
drivers and ports. when i was seeking the registry i found
some key's which exports only 30 of this printers? maybe
you can help me. This key's can be helpfull for you.

I'm currently busy implementing a new print server. Trying
to develop a new back-up procedure i got stuck!

I made a back-up with the program "printmig" but this
program doesn't back-up any printer queues only the
drivers and ports, so i'm seeking the registry for key's
where tis "queue" information is stored.

In the company we have about 60 printers, I found a
registry key
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Print) which restores only 30 printer
queues. Tis key also contains the specific information
about the other 30 printers ( queues ). But i can't see
them on the new server when i export this key!

Maybe you can help me to find out what the problem is or
what i'm doing wrong.

I think this key figures out your problems! Hope to hear
from you about my problems

Regards

Rik
