I'm having some problems moving a pst files from a coworkers machine
who has just transferred to the US from Poland. I was wondering if it
is possible to move outlook pst files from different versions
(languages) to the US version of Outlook? I wouldn't think that this
would be a problem except for maybe the characters don't display
right. When I try and open the pst I get an error saying the file a
not a valid pst file. The pst came from Outlook 2000 Polish version.
So basically I'm just wondering if this should be able to be done or
if the files I received on a cd are just corrupt.

Outlook needs to be able to write to the .PST file, which it can't do when
the .PST is on a CD. Move the .PST file to your hard drive and remove the
read-only attribute, then try again.

You can try running the Inbox Repair Tool on the .PST file to see if it
finds any errors. Search your hard drive for a file named scanpst.exe and
run it. Make sure you let the program make a backup copy of the .PST before
it proceeds with the scan.
