I have tried to move this application using a Belkin cable or easy windows
transfer. Nothing works. I know you have to have the latest version of
MO2003. It seems like all of my programs, excell, PP, access all have
different version numbers. I'm not sure what to do.

You cannot move these programs with a transfer method. You can only transfer
data. You must install these programs on your Vista machine using the
installation CDs. Office 2003 works just fine on Vista.

I didn't know that. All of my other programs transferred. I haven't seen
those CDs since I moved in 2005. I've looked. Guess I'm out of luck.
Thanks anyway.

If you registered with MS, and it was a retail version of Office, you might
be able to get replacement media.
You should be able to get the installation key from the old machine.

If it was an OEM included Office bundle, you can't (according to the EULA)
transfer it to a new machine.

If you don't want to buy Office again, you can always try something like

If OO it doesn't meet your needs, you can buy MS Office anytime.

Someone recommended Open Office. Have you tried it? Will all of my excel,
powerpoint and word documents open in Open Office?

I use Office 2000 and Office XP as well as Open Office on various machines.
Open Office works fine.
It opens my Word, Excel and Power Point documents fine.

Generally yes. OpenOffice is largely compatible with Microsoft Office.
However there is no guarantee that *every* Microsoft Office file will
open, or that if they do open, they open properly.

But it's free. Try it for yourself, and see if meets your needs.
