Moving from WinFAX Pro

I'm moving to a new WinXP Pro box and don't intend to
continue using WinFAX Pro. Since WinFAX Pro used to be
such a standard (even if a broken one) I was hoping that
the FAX capabilities in WinXP-Pro might be able to import
or view the old FAX images or maybe import the recipient
list. I cannot find anyway to do this.

Any help greatly appreciated.

In what format are the WinFax Pro faxes? Where are your recipients stored
now?
Windows XP Fax viewer will support TIF files, and you should easily be able
to import your recipient list into either the Windows Address Book or the
Outlook Address Book, either of which Win XP Fax can use.

"In what format are the WinFax Pro faxes? Where are your

WinFAX stores them in a .FXD format. The WinFAX Message
Manager allows export (no batch though) but the code blows
up (has for two versions) if you try exporting to .TIF
or .PCX. The export to .BMP does work.

The addresses are in the WinFAX Phonebook. Probably a
propriatary format. I can export to either ACSII text or
dBase.

Should be clear now why I want to leave WinFAX Pro
forever :-)

BTW, have I enabled all of the Windows XP functionality
when I have selected the FAX services from the Windows
features (sorry this isn't clearer. I don't have XP in
front of me) or is there something else I need to load?

TIA.
