Hi
I use my Laptop in the company network and aswell at home, where I connect throug a DSL router to the Internet. When I change the location and reboot my W2k, everything works fine. But when I change without rebooting I have network problems. Renewing the dynamic IP part with IPCONFIG does not solve the problem. At home it looks like there are no packets sent over the Ethernet adapter although it is up and connected. I did not have that problem, when I was running NT4 before. So my question is, what happens with the network at startup? Can this not be done later
Thanks for any hints

Fred

Fred,

My guess on this is that if you do not reboot, the security/restiction policies/settings from work
are still applied. So that is why you have to reboot. I have the same issue moving between job
and home. If I don't reboot, then my company restrictions are still applied.

Hope this helps.
Gary
