In my system the following space is occupied by the corresponding folder. I
know that the ServicePackFiles and $hf_mig$ folders cannot be deleted and I
assume the Installer and ie7updates folders also cannot be deleted.
603 MB \WINDOWS\Installer
538 MB \WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles
439 MB \WINDOWS\$hf_mig$
100 MB \WINDOWS\ie7updates
Is it possible to relocate the folders to a different volume/partition? My
system drive is small (10 GB) but I have another drive that is 100 GB. Yes,
I know I need a new system but unless you can give me a system, then telling
me I need a new system is a waste of time; I know I do. It will sure help to
be able to relocate the folders elsewhere from the system volume.
If there are previous answers or other reference material then it will help
if I knew what keywords to use for searching or any other assistance with
finding resources. I am technically knowledeable enough that you can assume
I know the basics at least. I am not however experienced with reparse points
and mount points; if something like that would help then it will help if I
knew it is something worth learning about.
All relevant partitions use NTFS.
