Moving files and problems with paths

I created a little movie but foolishly had left everything in the directory
where it originally resided (E:\my pictures)

Today, I thought to do a bit of housekeeping and I moved all of the files
associated with the project to a new directory (E:\my pictures\movie).

When I opened the project, I had a bunch of blanks in the movie. I figured
out that everything still pointed back to "E:\My pictures"

I can see that this is going to cause major problems when I put in a new
hard drive and my data drive becomes D:.

Is there an easy way to change the paths in Movie Maker?

Thanks.

You can re-establish the links to the source
files by right clicking the Red Xs in Movie
Maker and browse to the new location.

Thanks. That's a great help.

I spoke too soon.

I figured that I'd play with this feature a bit so I moved one of the photos
from it's original location and then opened the project file. Sure enough
there was the "X" on the time line. I did the right click and selected
"Browse." I found the picture and selected it.

That's where things went bad. I got a message saying that the new picture
wasn't similar enough to the original to replace it. Huh? It was the
picture just in a different location.

Any suggestions.

I'll tell you what went wrong.

What went wrong is Microsoft creating yet more broken-ware.

Microsoft Movie Maker is so full of bugs and brokenness it may as well be a
virus.
