Hi,

I have two windows PCs, one of the being win98 ( not win98se, so workgroup
stuff doesn't work, i.e. win98 cannot see win2k in the network
neighbourhood, even if they belong to the same group ). I can see a couple
of other solutions, i.e. installing ftp or ssh server on win2k. But I am
just curious, is there a dedicated freeware which will allow me to move
files between 2 PCs on a peer to peer basis via TCP/IP ( not direct
connect)? I found shareware File Tunnel, but it's not freeware, and it's
awkward for copying multiple files from multiple directories. I looked at
a couple of P2P programs, but they all seem to require authenticating
against the central server, which I don't want/need.

Thanks in advance.

TightVNC developer version 1.3dev3 or newer supports
File transfers between viewer and server machines.

Have you tried NetBeui protocol on both systems? I'd be surprised if
it won't allow file sharing. Don't enable file sharing over TCP/IP, as
that will expose them to hacking by other internet users.
