I had to go buy a new CPU. It came with XP Home. I need to use excel so I
thought I would be real cleaver and simply copy my MS Office 97 Excel from
the old HD to the new. Of couse it was not that simple. I have long since
lost my CD for it so I cannot re-run set-up. After moving 5 or 6 .dll's I
can get it to load but now I get a "Cannot Register A Visual Basic
Enviroment" and that prevents me from opening any of my saved documents.

Am I lost and have to go BUY a new Excel program or is there a way to fix
this?

That's what I was afraid of........Thanks

Just an opinion - don't think its possible to just cleave & transfer Excel97 (or for
that matter any program in general which has been installed) from 1 HD to another.
Unless you can somehow retrieve the original installation CDs to *re-install*, you
would probably have to go for a new program.
