Moving email accounts from windows mail to outlook 2003

I bought a new computer w/windows mail. i have been using this for a while
and now I want to move it all into outlook 2003. Any help would be
appreciated.

Assuming its the same process as outlook express.
With OL configured & functional.
In W.Mail export msgs to OL
Within OL, import address book

I opened outlook and tried to import addresses. I got a message reading:
"The mail folder cannot be opened. If another application is using this file,
please close it and try again".
Not sure how to proceed. Any thoughts? BIG QUESTION...do I need to set up a
"new" email account" in outlook (which is already in my windows mail), before
i can do any of this?
