We are planning to move our DHCP service to a new server. What is the
recommended way on doing this? Can this be done during the day with users
working?

I remember something about coping the DHCP configuration/Static IP
assignments and scope info. I think there was a database you can move or
something.

Thanks for help.

There is an old cluny way of transferring the DHCP database which is made
much easier by a tool called Dhcpexim.exe. You can get it here:

Note - if you will be transferring to a Win 2003 server, there are some
wrinkles:

In my experience, no matter how you do this, some machine will wind up with
2 different DNS host records. So, you probably ought to be prepared to
scavenge on the DNS server.
