moving deleted items to a new folder disappear-why?

I want to move deleted items to a new "deleted item folder"i.e "deleted 021910.

When I perform this step-many times the deleted items that I think move
actually disappear.

Where do they go?

Why does this happen?

At the same time a "new message" opens up looking for me to send an e-mail
to some one and attached to this "new message" are multiple attachments.

this is really stange.

I need help.

Why? Any "Deleted Items" folder is for mail you DON'T WANT TO KEEP!!!!!!
If you want to KEEP the messages, why use the Deleted Items?
Do you file post in the trash can?
 
The deleted folder is just that, after all you don't store paperwork in your
Trash bin.
Rethink your strategy for dealing with msgs, create subfolders off your
inbox for storing particular msgs, use the archive options, anything
consigned to deleted should be considered trash for perminent removal
