I had a problem with my hard drive and had to replace it.
I have a backup of my BCM databsae that I am now trying to restore onto the
new hard drive.
Unfortunately, the user on the new Outlook is not the same as the old one
and it says that it cannot restore the database becuase I do not own it.
Is there anything I can do to get around this?

As an administrator you can do anything, including changing the owner
of the database to your new user name.

On Vista, you can run Outlook as administrator, attach BCM to your old
database, and apparently everything will be fixed the next time you
run Outlook/BCM regularly.

Otherwise, you can go into the database with Sql Studio, restore the
database, and manually update the database tables, setting yourself as
the owner.

If the backup file is a BCM backup, that file is really a zip archive,
with the sql database backup file inside. You can copy the sql backup
file out of the zip before restoring it with Sql Studio.
